Columbiana's Birdfish plans brews, glasses, events to mark 10 years

COLUMBIANA CITY Birdfish Brewing Co., which opened its doors in November 2015 on South Main Street in Columbiana, will mark its tenth anniversary with a four-day celebration featuring film, music and special beer releases.
The brewery, which started with a 37-seat taproom and a 1-barrel brewing system, has focused on community building and sourcing local ingredients since its founding, according to an announcement from the company. The upcoming anniversary events are intended to thank the patrons who have supported the establishment over the last decade.
The anniversary weekend will begin Thursday, Nov. 20, at the Columbiana Arts Theater, 5 N. Main St. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with no ticket or cover charge required. A "Ten Years on Tap" barrel glass, inclusive with any draft beer, will be available for $10. Live music by Aimlis will run from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
The evening will feature the first theater screening of Birdfish Brewing: 10 Years on Tap, a spotlight feature by local filmmaker and journalist Tristan Hostetter detailing the brewery's history. The film begins at 7:30 p.m. A brief question-and-answer session with Hostetter will follow the screening, concluding with more music from Aimlis.
The celebration continues at the brewery on Friday, Nov. 21, when doors open at noon. A 16-ounce anniversary pint glass will be available with select draft beers for $8 while supplies last. The glass will feature the brewery's original logo. A limited quantity of 144 glasses will be available, with a limit of one per person. Limited edition anniversary logo signs will also be available for purchase.
Food from Wagler Farms and Masala Grill food trucks will be available on the patio. A tapping of Single Bourbon Barrel Aged Grynch will take place at 5:30 p.m., ahead of the Columbiana Christmas Parade. The Conkle Brothers will perform live music in the Ballroom from 6 to 9 p.m.
On Saturday, Nov. 22, the brewery opens at noon, with the return of The Prodigal Sun, a Nelson Sauvin Double Dry Hopped Dynamo Double IPA. The beer will be available on tap and in cans to go while supplies last.
The first 100 beers poured will include an optional, unique stein by Raven Hanley Ceramics for $35, filled with beer. Patrons are limited to one stein per person.
