The Shenango Valley Mall was demolished at the beginning of 2025, and in April, there were renderings released of the plans for the site's future.

Plans included in the rendering included Chili's, LongHorn, Chick-fil-A and a possible Target parking lot.

On Monday, it was confirmed that there is an expected opening date for the Target in March of 2027, according to Hermitage Director of Business and Development Mark Longietti.

Longietti also said that Target's construction trailer is on location, and the project is approximately 129,000 square feet.

"We know more is coming," Longietti said. "Chick-fil-A, Chili's, LongHorn Steakhouse, and those openings could happen a little bit earlier than Target, perhaps by the end of next year."

Longietti mentioned that the developers' drawings indicate space for retail, restaurant and a "big box" mapped out on the drawings set aside for something else.

Being the director of business and development in Hermitage, Longietti also spoke on new homes in the area and multi-use housing options.

Longietti mentioned hearing from local realtors about a demand and housing need in Hermitage, and found that after having a survey conducted by the Smith Group, confirmed that there is a demand in the city.

"We are vetting some builders and developers who are interested in delivering projects at LindinPointe for those housing needs," Longietti said.

LindinPointe is a 115-acre business campus "poised to offer a high-end, shovel-ready, mixed-use technical park" located in Hermitage.

"Nice condos, nice townhomes, some of them could be rental units...provide rentals that are available at an affordable price for folks," Longietti said.

Longietti went on to describe the development as a "self-contained community," with walking trails, businesses and a natural setting.
