'Joy of Christmas' light show returns to Columbiana

COLUMBIANA CITY - Columbiana's "Joy of Christmas" light show has returned to Firestone Park for its 17th year.
The light show will take place on select nights in November and December from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will feature one million lights on more than 90 displays.
The cost of admission is $20 per vehicle and $40 for a season pass. Veterans, first responders and seniors 65 and over can take advantage of $10 admissions on Sunday nights.
There will also be $5 walking nights on November 20, December 17 and December 28.
In addition to the lights, gingerbread houses crafted by students from local school districts and local professionals, as well as an indoor train display can be found in the "Gingerbread House."
Children can also get reindeer food, write letters to santa and decorate ornaments in the Gingerbread House.
Meanwhile in the "Ice Castle," children can meet and take photos with Santa himself. The cost for a photo with Santa is $15.
There are plenty of new additions this year including Candy Land themed decor and story time with Chief Entertainment Elf Carrie (December 13, 17 and 22 only) in the Gingerbread House.
Also new this year, Mrs. Claus will visit the Ice Castle on Thursdays and Sundays and other select nights. Santa and Mrs. Claus's last day at the event will be Tuesday, December 23.
The funds from the display benefit the Columbiana County Tourism Bureau, as well as Firestone Park maintenance, student scholarships and activities and events in Columbiana.
