Police investigate overnight crashes in Youngstown, Austintown

YOUNGSTOWN Law enforcement officers in Mahoning County investigated two separate crashes late Thursday and early Friday, including one where a vehicle struck a home and another that followed a pursuit.
The first incident occurred around 11 p.m. on South Judson Avenue in Youngstown. Police said a silver Dodge Charger drove over a curb and through the front porch of a house before striking a fence and coming to a stop.
Dispatchers sent police to the area after getting several calls about shots being fired in the neighborhood.
Officers discovered shell casings at the scene, though investigators said it is unclear if the evidence is connected to the crash.
Police did not immediately release information regarding the condition of the driver.
About 30 minutes later, a police pursuit that began in Youngstown ended in a crash in Austintown.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol and Youngstown police officers responded to the intersection of Conn Avenue and North Meridian Road around 11:30 p.m.
Troopers confirmed the chase originated in Youngstown but did not provide further details regarding potential injuries or arrests Friday morning.
Both incidents remain under investigation.
