Youngstown State wins at UNI for the first time in 26 years, 35-32

The Youngtown State football team wrapped up its final game of the regular season on the road versus the University of Northern Iowa.
The Penguins held on to win by a final of 35-32, getting their first win in UNI for the first time since 1999.
Beau Brungard got YSU on the board in the 1st quarter with a seven yard rushing touchdown, which made it 7-0.
UNI's following drive went into the Penguin redzone, but was stalled as YSU's defense forced a fumble. The Penguins capitalized with a five play, 91 yard drive capped of by a 29-yard rushing touchdown from Brungard. Making it 14-0 Penguins.
The Panthers kicked a field goal before the end of the quarter as they trailed 14-3.
YSU would score two late touchdowns before halftime. The first was Brungard connecting with tight end Alex McDonald for a 12-yard score and then Brungard ran in this third touchdown of the game from seven yards out.
The Penguins went into half leading 28-3.
UNI came out firing in the second half, as they scored its first touchdown of the game on their opening drive. Jaxon Dailey hit JC Roque Jr. the the back of the endzone cutting the YSU lead to 28-10. Then another score from the Panthers which made it 28-18 after completing the 2-point conversion.
The Penguins would answer, Brungard hit Ethan Wright for the touchdown which made it 35-18.
UNI kept up the pressure scoring on back to back drives and cut the YSU lead down to 35-32.
The Penguins defense would force a huge 4th down stop with two minutes to play. One first down put YSU in victory formation as they held on to beat UNI.
Youngstown State finishes off the regular season with an 8-4 record and 5-3 in the Missouri Valley Football Conference.
The Penguins will now await the FCS selection show on Sunday, November 23rd at noon on ESPNU. Where 24-teams will be selected for the FCS Playoffs.
