YNDC receives over $2.4 million grant for home repairs, down payment assistance

YOUNGSTOWN - The Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corporation (YNDC) was awarded $2.475 million in grants for home repair and down payment assistance.
The grant funding came from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati's Affordable Housing Program and stemmed from two different partnerships.
YNDC partnered with Farmers National Bank on a $1.5 million application that will support repairs to 84 units of owner-occupied housing.
Additionally, YNDC partnered with Huntington National Bank and CareSource on an application that was awarded $975,000 to support down payment assistance of up to $10,500 per unit to 75 homebuyers in the Mahoning Valley.
"YNDC is honored to receive these grant awards and looks forward to accelerating our continued work to further improve housing quality, increase homeownership and stabilize neighborhoods throughout Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley," said YNDC Executive Director Ian Beniston.
Both projects will be completed in 2026.
