Longtime Rulli Bros. Market owner dies

YOUNGSTOWN - After seven decades of serving the Mahoning Valley, longtime owner of Rulli Bros. Market Frank Rulli has died.
According to a post on the Rulli Bros. Market Facebook page, Frank took over operations at the business at 13 following the passing of his father, and continued to serve the Mahoning Valley for more than 70 years.
"Frank's passion for life was second to none. Now he will spend an eternity with the love of his life, his wife of 60 years, Louise," the Facebook post reads.
According to Rulli Bros. website, once Frank and his wife took over operations, they transformed the business from a small storefront operation to a full-service grocery store with two locations. One in Boardman, and another in Austintown.
Later, Frank's sons Mark and Mike Rulli started helping their parents run the business too.
Mahoning County Commissioner Geno DiFabio released the following statement on Rulli's death.
"Men like Frank Rulli and the late Henry Nemenz just aren't made anymore. Both in their stores doing what they loved for the community and their customers. I remember seeing both while in their late 70's and 80's working produce departments and checking stock. The work ethic was unmatched and likely wont be seen again. This year I'm thankful for having known both. We should all learn from their example."
