A Youngstown nonprofit announced its 6th annual Helping Hands Tree, an initiative that invites the community to support individuals in recovery by purchasing items via an Amazon Wish List this year.

Broadway Recovery Services, an organization that operates recovery homes for those struggling with drug and alcohol substance use disorder, is asking Youngstown community members to help by purchasing essential items for residents and recovery homes.

"The Helping Hands Tree is a tradition that brings our community together in a powerful way," said Adam Lonardo, executive director of Broadway Recovery Services. "Every item donated provides comfort, dignity, and encouragement to the individuals we serve. These gifts help our residents focus on healing and rebuilding their lives."

This year's Helping Hands Tree features an Amazon Wish List, including winter accessories, such as hats, gloves, and scarves, as well as household items used throughout Broadway Recovery's supportive homes. Each donation contributes directly to creating a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for residents working toward long-term sobriety.

"Every small donation helps," Lonardo said. "Together, we're ensuring that every resident has the warmth and essentials they need to feel supported during the holiday season and beyond."

Broadway Recovery Services is located at 725 Boardman-Canfield Road.
