CANFIELD According to a dispatcher with the Canfield Police Department, about 50 residents have called the department asking about an apparent noise that is "as loud as a jet engine."

The last call the department received about the sound was around 6:10 p.m. on Thursday, November 27.

The dispatcher originally told 21 News the cause of the noise was a gas leak behind a CVS, located at 601 East Main Street in Canfield.

However, Enbridge Gas has since told 21 News the source of the noise was actually venting work being done by the gas company.

Dispatch indicated that the there was a pressure valve issue. Additionally, the dispatcher said that Enbridge Gas, the supplier of gas to the area, is aware of the situation and on-scene to investigate.

The dispatcher indicated that there is no immediate danger to the public.
