Small businesses in the Youngstown area are open for Small Business Saturday, Nov. 29. The holiday follows Black Friday as a shopping day geared towards small businesses.

Sweet Memories Vintage Tees sells retro-themed t-shirts, candy, and soda. The shop extended its Balck Friday sales to the whole weekend.

The store partnered with the Oh Wow! Children's Center for Science and Technology to print Oh Wow!-themed t-shirts. All customers who purchase a tee will receive a free pass to the center.

All t-shirts are buy-one, get-one-free. Mystery tote bags with 3 random shirts are $33 and are also buy-one-get-one-free.

CEO Linda Barton says a portion of the proceeds from shirt sales goes to local charities, such as Akron Children's Hospital.

"We donate a lot to a lot of different charities, but we also get that from our local community," she said.

Customers who bring their receipt from Sweet Memories to Past Times Arcade on N. State Street will get 10% off their purchase. The same discount applies when Past Times arcade customers bring their receipt to Sweet Memories.

West 34, a restaurant and bar on W. Federal Street, hosted fans for The Game between Ohio State and Michigan. Bartender Brooke Heaberlin says it is important for the community to visit local restaurants as much as local shops.

"Supporting local restaurants means supporting local families," she said.

The Wickyards on Wick Ave. in Youngstown hosts a Small Business Saturday Fundraiser Concert at 6:30 p.m. in support of the Youngstown Skatepark Association. Tickets are $10.
