West Branch Local School District superintendent resigns

BELOIT, Ohio - Superintendent Micki Egli will be resigning from her post as of February 1, 2026, according to a Wednesday statement released by West Branch Local School District.
In her November 25 resignation letter, the Board of Education says Superintendent Egli cited retirement as her reason for leaving the district. Though the resignation does not take effect until February, Egli has requested a leave of absence covering the remainder of her tenure.
High School Principal Brian Coffee has been asked by the board to temporarily step into the role as acting Superintendent Pro Tempore.
West Branch's Board of Education is now on the hunt for a new superintendent to head the district. That process, according to a statement from the board, will include "participation from newly elected, but not yet seated, members of the board."
The board said it may also appoint an interim Superintendent in order to "ensure stability and allow adequate time to select a permanent leader for the District."
In its statement, the board also congratulated Egli, thanking her for her "dedicated service to West Branch Schools and to the students, staff, and community" as well as for "securing significant grants and donations" to improve the school district.
The full statement from the district can be viewed on its Facebook page.
