It was a record-breaking Friday morning as low temperatures fell to 7 degrees at the Youngstown Warren Regional Airport, which broke the previous daily record low temperature of 9 degrees set back in 1991.

Friday will be a good deal of sunshine with patchy clouds filtering in later in the day. Thankfully, winds will be light, so there won’t be much difference between the air temperature to the wind chill value, although temperatures will remain below the average and below freezing, rising only to the upper 20s.

This weekend will feature some potential for snow, but it’ll generally be pretty quiet. Plenty of clouds will be around on Saturday, with a few flurries around the second half of the day and high temperatures only making it to the low 30s.

Sunday will remain cloudy with a few light snow showers developing towards the second half of the day, with high temperatures again rising to around the freezing mark.

Monday turns mostly sunny and remains quiet but colder with high temperatures in the upper 20s.

We will keep a close eye on a few potential systems that could work into the area early next week. Right now, timing and impacts are in question for a couple of systems that would work through Tuesday through Thursday. At the moment, snow is trending possible on Tuesday and Tuesday night with a mix of rain in snow on Wednesday and Wednesday night, and then a few flurries and light snow showers around on Thursday. High temperatures will remain in the low 30s on Tuesday, but could see a spike above freezing on Wednesday before falling back to the low 30s to end the week.
