Nursing students from East Ohio are hosting a community toy drive at the East Ohio College (EOC) campus in East Liverpool on Sunday, Dec. 7, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The toy drive and donations accepted will be donated to the Salvation Army in East Liverpool.

"Projects like this are important because, as nurses, part of our job is being advocates for the communities we serve, and this allows us to give back to the community, build trust, and provide the kids and families in our community a Christmas they deserve," East Ohio College Nursing faculty member Sydney McCoy stated.

During the event, there will also be a free cookie decorating station with hot chocolate and photo opportunities with Santa available to the community.

"This service project, led by the EOC Nursing class, reflects the college's commitment to compassionate care, both inside and outside the classroom," the college stated in a news release.

The release also states that outside of the classroom, nursing students work to participate in community service activities to help develop crucial skills for the workforce.

EOC's campus and Sunday's toy drive are located at 15258 OH-170 in East Liverpool. You can learn more about EOC here.
