Mahoning County warming station available for single men as temperatures drop

YOUNGSTOWN - With overnight low temperatures in the Mahoning Valley forecasted to drop into the teens this week, county officials are reminding residents of an available warming station for single men seeking shelter.
The National Weather Service predicts a low of 11 degrees Sunday night in Youngstown. To assist those in need during the cold months, the Mahoning County Overnight Warming Station is operating daily from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. through March 31, 2026.
Located at the Community Corrections Association (CCA) facility at 1771 Market St., the station provides shelter for up to 12 individuals per night. The facility offers cot-style beds, restrooms, water, coffee, and a bagged lunch.
Guests must register between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. No entry is permitted after 9 p.m., and anyone leaving the facility during the night forfeits their bed. Security cameras are in use, and strict safety policies prohibit weapons, alcohol, and drugs on the premises.
The warming station is specifically designated for single men. Women, families, and individuals with children are advised to contact Axess Family Services at (330) 716-0422, the Voices of Hope Shelter at (234) 228-9761, or the Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley at (330) 744-5486.
For assistance after 9 p.m. or for additional referrals, residents can dial 211 to contact the Help Network of Northeast Ohio.
The station is a partnership between the CCA, the City of Youngstown, the Mahoning County Commissioners, and several local social service agencies.
