Wet snow, possible travel hazards for Wednesday morning
A warm front will lift north across the region early Wednesday, bringing periods of wet snow to eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania. Snow rates can be heavy enough to overcome the (relatively) mild temperatures so that some temporary accumulations can occur on untreated area roads during the morning rush. Up to a couple of inches of wet snow will be possible, especially in areas around and north of I-80. Spotty rain and snow showers will be around for the midday and afternoon hours, and most roads will just be wet.
By Wednesday evening, colder air will return to the region, and snow showers will accompany falling temperatures. Surfaces can turn slick once again. Snow showers will decrease in coverage as the night wears on.
A blustery, cold day is forecast for Thursday. Wind chills will be no higher than the teens, and snow flurries will dance around the area at times. After a quieter day on Friday, some snow showers may be possible Friday night. Accumulating snow is looking likely late Saturday and Saturday night, with lake-effect snow showers and icy winds to follow on Sunday.
