REYNOLDSBURG, Ohio - The Ohio Department of Agriculture released the official 2026 fair season schedule on Tuesday, confirming the dates for county fairs in the Mahoning Valley.

In the region, the Trumbull County Fair in Cortland will be the first to open. The fair is scheduled to run from July 12 through July 18.

The Columbiana County Fair in Lisbon follows later in the summer. It is set to take place from Aug. 3 through Aug. 9.

The Mahoning County Fair in Canfield will conclude the local schedule near the end of the season. The event is slated for Sept. 2 through Sept. 7.

State agriculture officials approved dates for 94 county and independent fairs, as well as the Ohio State Fair. The statewide season begins June 6 with the Paulding County Fair and concludes Oct. 17 with the Fairfield County Fair.

The Ohio State Fair in Columbus is scheduled for July 29 through Aug. 9.

Brian Baldridge, director of the Ohio Department of Agriculture, noted the role fairs play in youth leadership programs such as 4-H and FFA.

“When people attend the fair, they are supporting their local community, the agriculture industry, and our next generation of responsible food producers,” Baldridge said.

In addition to setting dates, the department is responsible for ensuring the safety of amusement rides, monitoring livestock competitions and coordinating animal health efforts with local veterinarians.
