YOUNGSTOWN - One person is in the Mahoning County Jail this morning after leading State Troopers on a chase in Youngstown.

Troopers tell 21 News that a small hatchback fled along South Avenue early Friday after they tried to pull it over for allegedly swerving over traffic lanes.

The patrol says the SUV sped up to nearly double the 35-mph speed limit before veering into the front yard of a home at South and Philadelphia Avenues.

With guns drawn, the patrol arrested the driver, charging him with failure to comply with a police order. He's also charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle, since the driver allegedly didn't have the permission of the owner to be driving the SUV.

A passenger in the SUV wasn't charged.
