Youngstown Area Jewish Federation seeks artist for Holocaust rememberance mural

YOUNGSTOWN - The Youngstown Area Jewish Federation is currently seeking an artist for a Holocaust remembrance mural.
The Schwartz Holocaust and Antisemitism Resource Center is in the process of renovating its space and enhancing its visibility to the community.
Part of that project is designing a mural to remember the 6 million Jews killed in the Holocaust and honor the survivors who came to Youngstown after the war. The selected design will be printed on vinyl wrapping and installed by a third party.
The Jewish Federation is calling on all Mahoning and Shenango Valley artists over the age of 18 to design the mural. The mural will be 15 feet wide by 7 feet high.
Those interested should email Nic Bush at nbush@jewishyoungstown.org with their contact information (Name, address, phone number and email address), a narrative describing their vision for the mural and their design in a PDF format.
The deadline to submit your proposal is January 31, 2026 at 5 p.m.
A confirmation email will be sent to all applicants. If you do not receive this email within 24 hours after your submission, you're asked to email Bush again or call 330-746-3251 extension 114.
Finalists will be selected on February 9, and the winning artist will be selected on February 16.
