ODOT treating Valley roads before storm moves in

A winter storm is brewing but ODOT is out and about treating the roads all weekend long.
As the storm moves in, 45 crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation will be pre-treating the roads beginning at 4:30 Saturday morning.
"We already have a lot of salt out on our roadways between Mahoning and Trumbull counties so that salt and brine is currently on the road and it will remain so that way when that snow does start to fly, our crews really get a head start," Ray Marsch, ODOT District 4 public information officer said.
However, it won't be enough when temperatures get too low.
"When that temperature drops on Sunday and we're getting pavement temperatures below 20 degrees which is forecasted, our crews are going to be using some additives such as a calcium additive into our salt to lower that freezing temperature in that salt to make it much more effective," Marsch said.
ODOT suggests giving yourself ample time to arrive safely and leaving space on the roads.
"We just encourage motorists to leave early, give themselves plenty of time to reach their destination," Marsch said. "Our crews will be out, 45 between Mahoning and Trumbull, but please just give them plenty of room to work when you come across them," he said.
