St. Jude Women's Guild host Christmas on Seventh Street

The St. Jude Women's Guild hosted its 5th Annual Christmas on Seventh Street celebration on Saturday at St. Jude Catholic Church in Columbiana.
The event consisted of an expanded Cookie Walk with their largest selection of homemade cookies ever, along with the Enchanted Gingerbread Experience, which let guests step inside a life-sized gingerbread house.
"Really, it's a whole church effort, a whole community effort," Alexis Gallo, event coordinator, said. "We have a multi-faceted approach when everyone's in charge of a little piece of something. We have bakers, we have volunteers, we have a pancake breakfast and so it really is a full team approach."
Inside the gingerbread experience, there were treats and Christmas carol sing-alongs before meeting the live reindeer and other animals at the event's petting zoo.
"This year's Christmas on Seventh Street brings more magic than ever," Gallo said. Santa Claus was also in attendance for photo opportunities.
Outside of the cookie-themed fun, the event had a pancake breakfast and a Christmas Gift Market showcasing handmade gifts from artisans of the area.
Gallo expressed gratitude to all the volunteers and to the community's support of the event and the church year after year.
During the Lent season, the church also hosts fish fry dinners.
