Eleven felony charges filed in alleged connection to possible Masury cat abandonment

According to Trumbull County Eastern District Court records, eleven felony charges have been filed against two people in alleged connection with a possible cat abandonment in Masury in early December 2025.
A Facebook post made by Healthy Hearts and Paws Project founder Jason Cooke on December 8, 2025, outlined that eleven cats were found at a residence on First Street in Masury.
Seven of the cats found were removed from the home, and were in critical condition at the time due to extreme malnourishment and dehydration. They were hospitalized at the Newton Falls Animal Hospital.
The post goes on to outline that four of the seven cats were found deceased. Three of them had been cannibalized by other cats within the residence, as Cooke suspects that was their only means of survival.
As of Monday, December 15, eleven felony charges have been filed against a Tiffany Daniels, 36, in alleged connection with the December 8 incident.
All eleven counts are listed, according to court records, to be prohibitions concerning companion animals, a fifth-degree felony.
Cooke claimed in a Facebook post on Monday that warrants are still outstanding for a James Daniels in alleged connection with the incident, also for eleven counts.
Trumbull County Eastern District Court records indicate that eleven fifth-degree felony charges of prohibitions concerning companion animals were filed against a James Daniels, 45, also in alleged connection to the incident.
A court date for either James or Tiffany is not available at this time.
