NILES - The suspect arrested following an overnight police standoff at a Niles hotel has been identified by Niles police.

Police surrounded the Days Inn on Youngstown Warren Road late Monday after officers spotted a parked vehicle sought in connection with an incident in Warren earlier.

Details on the events leading up to the standoff are limited at this time, but a police report from Niles PD identified the suspect as 63-year-old Mickel Hall of Warren.

It was early Tuesday that officers used tear gas to subdue Hall in one of the rooms.

Hall was turned over to Warren Police, who booked him in the Trumbull County Jail on charges of possession of drugs, driving under suspension, OVI and escape.

Court records show Hall is scheduled to be arraigned in Warren Municipal Court on Wednesday, December 17.
