NILES - A Niles man who was recently on trial for the sexual abuse of a child was sentenced on some of his charges on Tuesday.

Seventy-five-year-old Danny McFadden was sentenced to a total of 11-and-a-half years in prison on 11 counts of gross sexual imposition. Once released, he will spend five years on priobation and must register as a Tier 2 sex offender.

A jury found McFadden guilty of the gross sexual imposition charges in November. McFadden also faced an additional 17 counts of rape, but the jury did not return a verdict on any of those charges.

The prosecution has not yet decided on retrying McFadden on the rape charges.

McFadden's crimes date back to 2017, when the child was just five years old, and continued all the way into 2025. The incidents usually occurred while the victim's parents were asleep.

The victim testified that McFadden would wake her up and tell her to go downstairs and take off her clothes. She further testified that McFadden would unplug the security camera in the living room or turn it around.

When asked why she never refused, the victim testified that she was scared of how McFadden would react.
