Pennsylvania United Way to offer home buyer classes in early 2026

United Way of Lawrence County will continue its holiday season tradition of The Home Buyers Program, with classes beginning in early 2026 at a New Castle church.
The Home Buyers Program was created to prepare individuals and families for homeownership, with 2026 presenters from Columbia Gas, Penn Power, Lawrence-Mercer Board of Realtors and more.
"We are proud of the many families that were able to purchase their own home by taking advantage of these classes," Gayle Young, executive director of United Way of Lawrence County, stated. "We realize that once a family purchases a home, they are literally out of poverty and start to enjoy generational wealth."
The Lawrence-Mercer Association of Realtors has sponsored the program on several occasions, along with the Lawrence County Community Foundation.
The United Way Homebuyer Classes will begin on Tuesday, Jan. 6, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in New Castle. Classes run for five weeks, ending on Feb. 3.
Reservations to be a part of the classes can be made by contacting the Uniter Way of Lawrence County.
