YOUNGSTOWN - A Youngstown man pled guilty on Tuesday to a homicide on Youngstown's south side and learned his sentence afterwards.

An employee at Judge Anthony D'Apolito's court tells 21 News 19-year-old Lyndale Wilkins pled guilty to a felony charge of involuntary manslaughter with a firearm specification.

He was sentenced to six to seven-and-a-half years in prison.

The charges stem from the fatal shooting of 19-year-old Zariyan Dothard on the 500 block of East Judson Avenue back in June of 2024.

Wilkins was 17 years old at the time of the crime and was originally charged in juvenile court before the charges were bound over to adult court in December of 2024.
