HUBBARD - A highly-traveled street in Hubbard is back open following a gas leak on Wednesday.

Hubbard Police Chief Robert Thompson tells 21 News Main Street was closed between Liberty Street and Myron Street due to a gas leak late Wednesday morning.

Construction crews have been working in the area for several months. 

According to a Facebook post from Hubbard Mayor Ben Kyle, an Embridge Gas Ohio contractor was working in the area on a pipeline infrastructure replacement when the leak occurred. 

Crews ventilated a nearby structure to make the area safe.
