Boardman police are investigating a high-value theft after a Girard woman reported her luxury vehicle was broken into on Tuesday evening. The incident occurred in a parking lot on West Western Reserve Road while the victim was at a local business between 5:30 p.m. and 6:40 p.m.

According to a police report, the thief shattered the rear windshield of a 2023 Alfa Romeo to gain access to the interior. Once inside, the suspect took a black Versace purse valued at $1,300. The purse contained several pieces of designer jewelry, including two David Yurman rings and three David Yurman bracelets, with a combined estimated value of 3,000 dollars, according to the owner.

In addition to the designer goods, the victim reported a missing wallet containing several credit cards and $100 worth of makeup. Including the $1,000 in estimated damage to the car’s glass, the total loss from the incident exceeds $5,400.

Officers found shattered glass inside the car and on the pavement, but no tools or objects used to break the window were recovered. Business owners in the area told police that exterior security cameras did not record the theft.
