We will still feel the lingering effects of the cold front by Friday. As the bulk of the rain moved out earlier this morning, a batch of light snow will move in as you head out the door. Be cautious for icy roads, as temperatures will nosedive below freezing, shocking liquid puddles that formed from yesterday’s rain. Temperatures will continue their decline throughout the day, dipping to the 20s areawide. Winds will be howling out of the west, with gusts in some places as high as 40 mph. This will drop wind chills to the single digits for most. Lake-effect snow is possible for those north of Youngstown, while flurries are also likely for all in the afternoon. We will bottom out around 20° overnight.

After Friday, things will get calmer. After a bit of clearing on Friday night, Saturday will bring milder weather with late-day highs in the low 40s. While the breeze will pick back up during the day, conditions will remain dry overnight with lows in the upper 20s.

A cold front will pass through overnight, keeping temperatures down throughout the day on Sunday. Highs will only eclipse around 30 on Sunday morning, declining through the day.

High pressure allows our conditions to stay dry for Monday, with the bonus of near-seasonable temperatures, with highs in the mid-30s.

By Tuesday, the chance for rain will come back to our area. For now, we are not expecting anything big- just a few light rain showers, especially in the morning. That rain could linger into the evening.

The lead-up to Christmas looks spotty in terms of precipitation, though mild when considering temperatures. Thursday’s current high of 50 looks to be the warmest of the week, with a higher-than-average chance for raindrops.
