Deadly St. Clair Twp. officer-involved shooting review moved to Muskingum Prosecutor

It has been nearly 11 months since the deadly officer-involved shooting in St. Clair Township and the investigation is now being reviewed by a Special Prosecutor in Muskingum County.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol handled the investigation after the Ohio Attorney General's Bureau of Criminal Investigation returned the case to the St. Clair Township Police due to a potential perceived conflict in the shooting between St. Clair Township officer Dakota Wetzel and 30-year-old Joseph Como of Wellsville, who died in the incident. Four-year-old Rosalie Martin was hit by a bullet in a nearby dentist's office on January 22 along St. Clair Blvd. and also died.
The Columbiana County Prosecutor's Office received the completed OSP investigation in August and told 21 News in September that they were reviewing it.
However, the completed investigation was then transferred from Columbiana County to the Muskingum County Prosecutor's Office, where it was assigned to Ronald Welch by late September.
Special Prosecutor Welch told 21 News his review of the case is not yet complete.
Back in September, OSP told 21 News that the inquiry would not be publicly available until any potential legal proceedings had concluded with the prosecutor's office.
