Owners of the Southern Park Mall say all outstanding tax obligations have been paid, according to a media release sent to 21 News.

21 News reported that the Southern Park Mall owners, Kohan Retail Investment Group, owed $948,118.84 in unpaid taxes at the mall site since taking ownership one year ago.

Mahoning County Treasurer Daniel Yemma told 21 News that he spoke with Kohan's office earlier in the week, providing them with proper money wiring instructions and other ways to repay the outstanding taxes. While Yemma said Friday that the money had not yet been received in the form of a certified check, he is unable to confirm if the money was wired until Monday.

The announcement comes among several others that the mall has expanded its on-site operational oversight.

As the new General Manager of the mall, Bill McClure will be responsible for daily operations, maintenance coordination, tenant relations, safety oversight, and stakeholder communication.

On the Mahoning County Auditor's website, an outstanding tax balance is still showing for the Southern Park Mall property.
