NORTH JACKSON, Ohio - A crash on Interstate 80 near the Ohio Turnpike significantly slowed traffic in the westbound lanes and sent three people to the hospital on Saturday.

A 21 News crew on the scene confirmed there was heavy damage to the two vehicles involved in the crash on Interstate 80 near North Jackson.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP), three people were taken to the hospital with varying degrees of injuries.

One person taken to the hospital had critical injuries, while the other two were taken with minor injuries.

The condition of the victims is unknown at this time.

The crash remains under investigation.

However, OSHP told 21 News that the alleged at-fault driver was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of the interstate.

As of around 1:00 p.m., there was only one lane open on I-80 westbound. Both right lanes appear to be closed, with traffic being directed through the open left lane.

Traffic was backed up from the turnpike to State Route 46 and was slow-moving.

However, OSHP says that the road was reopened around 3 p.m.
