Shoppers fill Eastwood Mall on Super Sunday
NILES - Customers filled the Eastwood Mall to do holiday shopping on Super Sunday, an event for holiday shoppers that kept the building open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Warren resident Keith Whitehead said he spent the same amount of money as he had in previous years.
"I always go a little overboard as usual, but it's been about the same," he said.
Venessa Whitehead, who is also Keith's wife, came to the mall to get a gift for her son's goddaughter at Old Navy.
"I just came by, and I'm like 'Oh, they've got great sales' so we went in there," she said.
Bristol Township resident Rebecca Brugler says she regularly comes to the Eastwood Mall to walk around and plans to do her holiday shopping after she is finished. She plans to host her family during Christmas.
"We do a three-hour gift exchange because we like to talk in between," she said.
Brugler adds that the price of food has increased and that her family usually splits the cost of dinner.
"We're thankful we can still afford it and do what we've always done," she said.
Girard resident Haya Farhan says she did a majority of her shopping online and came to the mall to find in-person deals.
"It's one of those things where you gotta track them," she said.
Howland resident Hunter Mckee says his favorite store to shop at the mall is Target because of the wide selection.
"They have different discounts on candles, sprays, colognes, perfumes," he said.
The Eastwood Mall is open Monday, Dec. 22 and Tuesday, Dec. 23, from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. It is open on Christmas Eve 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and closed on Christmas Day.
