Explosion, fire under investigation at Hermitage manufacturing plant

HERMITAGE - Firefighters in Hermitage responded to an explosion and fire at a manufacturing plant on Tuesday afternoon.
The Hermitage Fire Department was dispatched to CCL Container on Lloio Road just after 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday for a report of an explosion and fire, according to Hermitage Fire Chief Michael Wadlow.
Wadlow stated that there was no damage to the CCL Container building itself, with the fire confined to the outside of the facility.
An employee from a nearby business reported feeling the explosion shake their building.
The cause of the incident is currently under investigation.
No injuries have been reported at this time. The scene has been cleared as of 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Fire departments from Hermitage, Sharon, Shenango, Sharpsville, Patagonia Mall and West Middlesex assisted in battling the blaze. A McGonigle ambulance was on scene.
