Mahoning & Trumbull County - A local business is announcing the return of its 6th annual Community Christmas Tree Recycling Event.

Express Junk Removal is helping residents safely and responsibly recycle their Christmas trees free of charge.

The company will pick up trees at homes located in Mahoning and Trumbull Counties on Thursday, January 8, and Friday, January 9.

Below are the guidelines for pickup: 

  • Trees must be placed curbside the night before pickup
  • Trees must be fully bare (no lights, ornaments, garland, tinsel, or decorations)
  • No artificial, flocked trees, or wreaths accepted

Registration is required for pickup; residents are asked to sign up online.

According to the release by Express Junk Removal, in 2024, the company diverted over 300 trees from landfills. Many of those recycled trees were given a second life as natural fish habitats or for other environmentally beneficial uses.
