Two jailed following vehicle chase on Interstate 80

Two people have been incarcerated following a vehicle pursuit on Interstate 80 on Saturday.
According to a release by the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the pursuit of the stolen vehicle started eastbound on Interstate 80, Ohio Turnpike, in Streetsboro.
Troopers attempted to halt the car by using stop sticks, which flattened one of the car's tires. The report states that the driver continued to travel down the turnpike until the rim "disintegrated".
The pursuit ended on I-80 in Hubbard Township when the driver struck a police cruiser and was forced off the road and into a ditch.
The trooper driving the cruiser that was hit, as well as the driver of the stolen vehicle, sustained minor injuries and were both treated at the scene.
The driver and a passenger of the stolen vehicle were incarcerated in the Portage County Jail on multiple felony charges.
