Shelter seeks information after dog found emaciated in Southington
The Healthy Hearts and Paws Project is looking to gather information about a dog that was found abandoned in Southington on Saturday.
According to a Facebook post, the shelter's Humane Division received a call Saturday evening about an abandoned dog on Leiby Osborne Road in Southington.
The post reads that the dog was found emaciated and matted, sitting next to an empty wire crate, which she appeared to have clawed her way out of.
The dog is safe and is at The Healthy Hearts and Paws Project animal complex in Warren. Jason Cooke, Healthy Hearts and Paws Project President and CEO, tells 21 News that the dog, whom they have named Ember, will be seen by a veterinarian on Monday.
The Healthy Hearts and Paws Project is asking anyone with information to contact them through their Facebook page.
