PennDOT: Driver's license, photo centers to close for New Year's holiday
On Thursday, January 1, 2026, all driver's license and photo centers in the state, including the full-service center in Harrisburg, will be closed in observance of the New Year's holiday.

According to a news release from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), all driver's license and photo centers will be closed in observance of an upcoming holiday.
On Thursday, January 1, 2026, all driver's license and photo centers in the state, including the full-service center in Harrisburg, will be closed in observance of the New Year's holiday.
Although physical locations will be closed, customers may still obtain driver and vehicle services online through PennDOT's Driver and Vehicle Services website.
The following services will be available online:
- Driver's license, photo ID and vehicle registration renewals
- Driver-history services
- Changes of address
- Driver's license and vehicle registration restoration letters
- The ability to pay driver's license or vehicle insurance restoration fee
- Driver's license and photo ID duplicates
- REAL ID pre-verification
- Driver exam scheduling
Additionally, all forms, publications and driver training manuals are available online.
