LISBON - The second application period for the new Expanded Potable Water Sampling Program in Columbiana County is set to begin this week.

The program will begin on Thursday, January 1, and those wishing to participate must submit their applications to the Columbiana County Health District by January 31.

You can print out an application form by clicking here, or you can pick one up at the Columbiana County Health District during normal business hours.

The program is designed for residents who were concerned about their water in the aftermath of the East Palestine train derailment, but were never able to obtain a sample.

To qualify, private drinking water wells must be located in Columbiana County and outside of the current priority zones for the East Palestine train derailment response.

Additionally, the water well must be functional and capable of drawing water from the ground to a spigot.
