CORTLAND - Police in Cortland rescued a man from a burning vehicle in Bazetta Township over the weekend.

Officers John Mosora and Chuck Lohry were called to Bradley Brownlee Road around 11 p.m. Saturday, where they found that a car had driven through a fence, flipped on its side and caught on fire, according to a post on Cortland PD's Facebook page.

Officer Mosora was able to pull the sunroof off the car and pull the man out. The man can be heard in a body camera video saying his legs were broken and that he was paralyzed and could not move.

Meanwhile, Officer Lohry used a fire extinguisher to put out the flames. Multiple fire departments were also called to put out the fire.

According to the post, the man in the car sustained serious injuries, and Officer Mosora sustained minor injuries.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
