COLUMBUS, Ohio - Ohio's minimum wage is set to increase by 2.8% in 2026.

Effective Thursday, January 1, Ohio's minimum wage will rise to $11 per hour for non-tipped employees, up 30 cents from 2025, and $5.50 per hour for tipped employees, up 15 cents from 2025.

This change is mandated by a constitutional amendment passed in November of 2006 that states Ohio's minimum wage shall increase at the beginning of each year by the rate of inflation.

Additionally, the threshold for business applicability will change. Effective January 1, 2026, Ohio minimum wage will apply to businesses with annual gross receipts of more than $405,000, an increase of the current $394,000 threshold.

For employees at businesses with annual gross receipts of $405,000 or less per year, as well as for 14 and 15-year-old workers, the state minimum wage remains tied to the federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour.
