The City of Youngstown has declared a snow emergency effective January 1, 2026.
The notice was released on December 31, 2025, declaring that the emergency will begin at noon on Thursday and be in effect until further notice.
During the snow emergency period, parking is prohibited on all streets except for streets or alleys having a width of 25 feet or less.
Any vehicle in violation of this ordinance could be towed at the owner's expense.
According to the declaration, a snow emergency is put in place when there is an accumulation of snow of four inches or more and it is necessary to alleviate potential public health and safety hazards.
