The City of Youngstown has lifted its snow emergency and parking ban as of 8:30 Friday morning.

A notice was released declaring that the emergency would begin at noon on Thursday and be in effect until further notice. As of 8:30 a.m. Friday, that notice has been canceled.

During the snow emergency period, parking was prohibited on all streets except for streets or alleys having a width of 25 feet or less.

According to the declaration, a snow emergency is put in place when there is an accumulation of snow of four inches or more, and it is necessary to alleviate potential public health and safety hazards.
