YOUNGSTOWN - Youngstown's Market Street Bridge remained closed New Year's morning, four hours after it had been scheduled to reopen.
The bridge was blocked off on Wednesday for the city's New Year's Eve celebration and fireworks.
An earlier news release from city officials stated that they planned to reopen the bridge at 1 a.m. Thursday. However, 21 News found the bridge still closed at 1 a.m.
People answering the phones for the police and the street departments didn't know that the bridge was still closed, or why.
Drivers needing to travel between Downtown and the Southside may want to detour along South Avenue until Market Street is open again.
