Visit Lawrence County has announced a collaboration with New Castle's City Rescue Mission to help raise ground coffee donations for their January coffee drive.

Nine coffee shops in Lawrence County are represented on the 2026 Coffee Club Trail and will have coffee donation bins available for customers to drop off or buy ground coffee to donate.

"We need almost 500 lbs. of coffee for the whole year," Jack Lynn, president and CEO of City Rescue Mission, told 21 News during an interview on Thursday's 5 p.m. broadcast. "Last year we raised just under 300 (lbs.), so it got us almost through the year, so we're really hoping this pushes us and gets us enough coffee in January for the entire year."

Every year, coffee donations are used to help City Rescue Mission provide coffee to their shelter.

As a part of the month-long mission, those who donate coffee at any of the participating locations will win a City Rescue Mission coffee mug, according to a news release. To win a Lawrence County mug, all coffee shop locations on the passport must be visited.

"The goal was to showcase our local coffee shops with the help of our community and build pride for where they live." Ginny Jacob Colella, assistant director of Visit Lawrence County, stated.
