ST. CLAIR TWP., Ohio - Multiple fire departments responded to a fire that burned down a house in Columbiana County early Friday morning.

According to a post from the Glenmoor Volunteer Fire Department's Facebook page, crews were called to a home on Birch Road in St. Clair Township shortly after 3:30 a.m. Friday.

The house was deemed a total loss, but firefighters confirmed the homeowner was safe at her daughter's house.

In addition to Glenmoor, crews with the Liverpool Township fire department assisted at the scene, and Calcutta Fire Department Chief Dave McCoy maintained command at the scene.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
