New Year's shooting in Boardman damages video game console

A shooting on New Year’s Night damaged a video game console and left neighbors near Southern Boulevard looking for answers. Boardman police officers arrived at the scene after witnesses reported hearing shots fired in the residential area.
One witness told investigators he saw a person point a gun toward the ground on Beechwood Avenue and fire several times. The witness said the person then got into a red SUV and drove away from the neighborhood.
When officers searched a nearby driveway, they discovered two 9 mm shell casings. They also found a PlayStation 4 video game console that had a hole in it. Officers said the damage to the console appeared to be from a bullet. The report does not say who may have owned the PS4.
Police took the shell casings and the damaged electronics to keep as evidence. No injuries were reported in the incident. Investigators continue to look for the vehicle involved.
