Liberty police seek help online for Christmas Eve crash

Liberty Township police turned to social media Monday to find the driver responsible for injuring a woman on Christmas Eve.
The department posted a message on Facebook asking anyone with information about the crash on Churchill-Hubbard Road to come forward. The collision happened around 5:20 p.m. on Dec. 24 near the police station.
The officer called to the scene and found Ruth J. Raver sitting on the south side of the road. Raver told police she was walking across the street to go to church when a vehicle struck her on her right side.
Witnesses standing near the area told the officer they did not see the collision happen. An ambulance took Raver to a hospital for treatment.
Raver’s niece, Annette Houser, previously said her aunt suffered a broken leg, ankle, foot, and toes. She noted that swelling prevented doctors from immediately operating on the injuries.
Houser said the family wants accountability for the driver who left Raver on the side of the road during the holiday.
Investigators encourage anyone who knows about the crash to contact the Liberty Police Department at 330-759-1511.
