Grant for facade renovations approved for Ohio One Building in downtown Youngstown

YOUNGSTOWN - The Youngstown Design Review Committee has approved a $20,000 grant request for renovations to the facade of the Ohio One Building during its meeting Tuesday morning.
According to the meeting agenda, the project will include masonry and metal restorations, as well as storefront and bronze restorations, signage and decorative architecture elements and improvements to drainage and accessibility.
The grant will cover $20,000 of the project's total cost of $68,400.
According to the agenda, several aspects of the building will be restored, including the bronze trim, as well as door and window framing.
Additionally, the bronze light fixtures will be restored and rewired for compatible LED lights, and the "Ohio One Building" signage will be restored with "original 1930s typography."
