Trial date set for Niles man accused of child rape

WARREN, Ohio - A trial date has been set for a Niles man accused of rape of a child. 41-year-old Brian Christensen appeared in Trumbull County Court Tuesday facing a long list of charges.
His attorney spoke for him in court pleading not guilty to all 15 charges against him.
The accusations include five counts of rape, eight counts of gross sexual imposition and two counts of attempted rape.
Prosecutors said there are three victims in this case all between the age of nine and 13 when the incidents happened.
“He has a very limited to no criminal history,” prosecutors said during the arraignment. “The allegation in this case concerns three minor children all known to him.”
No details of the allegations were given in the courtroom but court documents state the alleged crimes happened over the course of five years from April of 2020 to July 2025.
Two of the charges indicate that the victim was impaired either physically or mentally at the time of the alleged incident.
Christensen is set to face all of the charges in a jury trial on April 27. Two pretrial dates were set for Feb. 3 and April 7.
As of Tuesday afternoon, Christensen is still being held behind bars on a $500,000 bond. If that is posted and Christensen is let out, he's ordered to have no contact with all three victims and their family members.
