A suspect who slipped out of his electronic monitoring device and left East Liverpool City Hospital on Thursday morning is back in custody.

Police in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia were asked to be on the lookout for 39-year-old Bradley Cianni of Wellsville, who was last seen in a wheelchair with an IV in his arm, wearing a hospital gown, just before 2 a.m. in the hospital. His ankle bracelet was found at the hospital, but Cianni was gone.

A dispatcher with the East Liverpool Police Department told 21 News as of 9:42 am, Cianni is back in police custody. There is no word on where he was found.

Cianni has four open criminal cases in Columbiana County, including charges for drugs and possessing a weapon inside a detention facility.

According to court documents, Cianni was indicted in June 2025 for allegedly possessing a "cane with a concealed blade" while he was being held in a detention facility on April 23.

He is also accused of damaging a mattress, sink, and toilet control box while in custody in July.

Cianni faces additional felony charges for possessing methamphetamine in two separate incidents from September 2024 and February 2025.

Court records show Cianni was arrested on a bench warrant on Dec. 27, after failing to appear for a court hearing in October.
